How Swipey AI Group Chat works
- Create a room. Pick two or three characters. You can mix Platform Models with the Custom AI you built in Create AI.
- Set the scene. Choose a location and a scenario for the room, the same kind of steps you see when creating a character.
- Chat. Each character replies in her own personality mix, and they respond to each other as well as to you. Address one by name when you want a specific reply.
- Request media. Ask for photos or a video scene inside the room, with a choice of duration up to 60 seconds. The generated scene reflects the room's location and scenario.
If you have not built a Custom AI yet, Create AI takes under two minutes: realistic or anime, then body, hair, eyes, skin tone and outfit, a personality mix, a voice, and the kink, scenario and location steps added in August 2026. Everything you set there carries into the room, and you can adjust it later in Edit My AI.
Group Chat is a chat feature. There is no group voice call, and there is no live camera call anywhere on Swipey. Voice stays one-on-one for now, through voice messages (which you can now send as well as receive) and real-time voice calls.
Why an AI group chat changes the conversation
Dynamics. Two personalities in one scene produce disagreement, teasing and momentum that a one-on-one chat cannot. A shy character and a dominant one in the same room will not treat you, or each other, the same way, and the difference is visible in the first ten messages.
It is also the fastest way to test personality mixes before you commit to one in Edit My AI. Put two versions of the same idea side by side, run a scene, and keep the one that reads right. People who write a lot of roleplay use it as a writers' room: one character drives the plot while the other complicates it.

Set the scenario before the first message. Without one, three characters talk past each other. More ideas are in the scene-setting conversation starters, and the two-character prompts in the prompt library were written with rooms in mind.
Running a room well
- Give the room a clear scenario and a location, then let the first exchange run for a few messages before you steer.
- Address characters by name when you want a specific reply. Otherwise they decide who answers.
- Keep your Custom AI in the room. Her memory, personality and relationship level are hers, and a group scene is a good way to see new sides of her.
- Request a photo or a video scene when the scene reaches a moment worth keeping. A 60-second scene of a three-way argument in a snowed-in cabin is the kind of thing Group Chat exists for.
- Keep rooms short. Like one-on-one chat, long sessions can start to loop; several short scenes read better than one marathon.
What it costs
Group Chat is Premium-only. Since 5 September 2026 you need Premium ($7.99 a month, billed monthly, cancel anytime) to open a room. Basic one-on-one text chat with Platform Models stays free on Swipey, and Premium also removes message caps and unlocks images, video and voice. Photos and video scenes requested in a room follow the same rules as in one-on-one chat. Check the pricing page for the current Premium list, and remember that hearts, Swipey's reward currency, are earned through daily quests, the 7-day streak and level-ups. Hearts also pay for gifts in Swipey Live Fantasy Duels and for Fanclub content sets, so a Premium member who keeps the streak going usually has a stock to spend across the product.
Status and what is not included
Group Chat has been live in production since 27 August 2026, with fixes shipped between 1 and 3 September, and it is a Premium feature. Two things are not part of it today: voice calls inside a group room, and relationship progression inside a group. Both are ideas Swipey has discussed rather than features with a date, so this site does not promise them. Progression still happens in your one-on-one chats, where every conversation moves a character through the ten relationship levels and level-ups trigger a reward drop.
Swipey runs in the browser on any device with an Install App banner, and sign-in is by email, Google or magic link, so a room you start on your phone is waiting on your laptop. Swipey is for adults only, and characters in a room are disclosed as AI, the same as in one-on-one chat.
